Session 2 – Stakeholder Persona

Defining the problem is the most critical step and this will guide the entire design process as you move forward. Why you may ask? Well, there is a saying that “A well-defined problem is half solved already with the solution lying in the problem definition or statement.”

One of the first steps to define the problem statement is, who defines along with other related information which you have gathered in Voice of Users (VOU). VOU is another term for Stakeholders, and you will need to define the problem/ opportunity in their perspective by creating Stakeholder Persona.

Stakeholder personas are used in order to define the problem statement from their Point of View. Based on the project you may need to create personas of at least 2 to 3 primary users in some cases 2 to 3 secondary and tertiary users too.

Here are a few example Personas for you to derive inspiration from:

(source from the earlier UG batch)

Scenario 1: To create a recipe generator platform that uses ingredients already existing in your refrigerator and generates recipes.

IDENTIFYING STAKEHOLDERS :

Primary – Students, Homemakers, Working Professionals, Amateurs who wish to learn.

Secondary – Food Critics, Food Bloggers, Street food Vendors, Home Caters, Restaurant owners, People who just explore just for knowledge.

Tertiary – People who don’t enjoy cooking, Chefs, People who order food online

Scenario 2 : Team SUV (Local Commute)

1. Difficult in managing transport when there is no direct route which causes confusion and makes travelling hectic and hard to coordinate.

2. Not knowing when the bus is set to arrive which causes anxiety and frustration.

3. Overly crowded transport during surge times which is unhygienic, cause discomfort and increase touch points.
